Why is the Sky Blue ?

Why ?
On this auspicious occasion of National Science Day, here I share this document, named "Why is the Sky Blue ?". This is transcript of a public lecture, that Prof. CV Raman gave, in 1968. Reading this lofty morsel of wisdom, was infinitely elevating.
I have derived great satisfaction in just doing nothing at all and looking at these masses of  clouds and the blue sky.
Tasting those lines gave me a mere glimpse of the ardent passion with which he pursued science. Salutes to you, Sir.

As Plato puts it, "At the touch of love everyone becomes a poet". Surprisingly, 'Sky' and 'Sea' too seemed to have inspired generations together endlessly. And, they never exhaust themselves doing so. Watching their vastness and humbly, submitting of our mere mortal presence in the universe, killing all our ego, we stand with mouth agape. As I see, they are closest things, which makes the infiniteness of universe perceptible and palpable to every other human being. I wonder, if even my pursuit of science got manifested from this point unconsciously.

Whenever this beauty crosses my thought flow, I cant resist but reading this  back at home before I go to bed. And I consider myself fortunate enough to live such a life, in pursuit of many unexplainable things, which are meant to be only felt,  like 'love'. Also here I thank all those, who helped me to appreciate these ideas. And a special mention to Alok Arunam, for taking me through this dossier.

Here is the *.pdf file.
